Legal Question in Family Law in California

Harassing Ex with Joint Legal Custody

SPECIFICALLY, what all does joint legal custody entail (subcategories in health, education, welfare) so I know what I am required to respond to and what I can reasonably ignore?

Thank you!

Joint legal custody are teh decision making ability regarding the legal decisions. Those would as you state encompass health, education, medical, psychological, and other life decisions involved in raising a child. As a co parent you would be entitled to make decisions and be involved in those decisions. You should cooperate with the other parent so that those decisions can be a joint one and that is in the best interests of your child.

For self represented individuals you can consult with the family law facilitator self help center at your local court house.

As always please consult a local attorney prior to taking legal action. Good luck. Also please check out my Santa Clara County Family Lawyer blog.
