Legal Question in Family Law in California

Harassment from Ex

Q. how much harassment do I have to take from my ex?Reason I ask: We have a 4 1/2 year old that when he was 3 months old we went to court to fight for custody issues. We never married. Since then he has consistently harassed me with phone calls of wanting to get back together, when I turn him down he gets very angry and says things like you only care about yourself and not our son. This has been going on for 4 years now and I cant take it anymore. Just 2 weeks ago he texted me that I put myself 1st and not my son. Which couldn't be further from the truth. I want to know do I have to take this from him. I know the courts want us to work this type of childish stuff out on our own but I have tried to just let it blow over and move forward but he will not stop. I don't want to go back to court but I feel like this is just not far. I have even given him more time with our son and have been very accommodating with our schedules. He is always late and bounces checks and every month he goes into this tyrant... So my question is do I have to put up with this? What can I do to stop him from this type of behavior and just focus on his son.Thank you in advance for your helpKelly

Re: Harassment from Ex

You should file for a restraining order, which will prevent him from harassing you. The self help centers usually offer help for restraining orders.

good luck.

As always consult a qualified attorney in your area before proceeding.
