Legal Question in Family Law in California
Harrasment/Dispute with Ex-Wife
My ex-wife and I disagree on the remaining balance of her loan. I have paid more than her to date. My name is not on the loan, nor can I access the loan. I did not pay for 2 month in order for her to ''catch'' up to what I have paid. She called my boss to complain, which can effect my job as I am in the military. Luckly my boss agreed with me, but I dont want her to continue to call my boss ever time there is a dispute. Also, we need to figure out what the balance is owed, but all we have is the informaiton she provides. The divorce agreement only says I am equally responsible for the indebtness, nothing with regards to payments, and how to pay the remainder. This was her attorney that drafted the docs. What should I do? This is getting so annoying and every time I give an idea she turns it down with an unreasonable demand, she also threatens wage garnishments, eventhough I am not on the loan and have paid more than her... what is she capable of doing and what am I responsible for? The divorce to place in GA, I am currently in CA and she is located in VA.

Re: Harrasment/Dispute with Ex-Wife
You should ask her to reimburse you and put it in writing for payments that you made in excess of your responsibilities. If needed you should file a motion for those reimbursements to enforce the terms of the agreement.
Good luck,
