Legal Question in Family Law in California
Can harships deductions change?
I currently pay $860 of childcare and chilsupport for one child. My ex had another child with another person and when we went to court she put a harship deduction of $910 for the child she has. She works and ears a gross of $1900 monthly. I earn a gross of $2721, she is now pregnant again and is blackmailing me telling me that she will put a higher harship once the other child is born,I am married with no other children.
desperetly and concerned

Now, in response to your message --
Child support can be modified whenever there is a
"change of circumstances." This can work to your
advantage or hers, depending on the specific facts.
If she is receiving child support from the other
fathers, she may not be qualified for the hardship
deduction. If she is not receiving support from
them, she should be.
