Legal Question in Family Law in California

the hearing about Spousal Support has been cancelled

because both of Plantiff and respondent didn't appear on the court, the hearing was cancelled. What's the difference between this and ''dismissed''? The plantiff has right to initial the hearing anytime again?

thanks
