Legal Question in Family Law in California

Hello,\nI am married to a USA citizen. We got married in another country. Now we want to get divorced. We live in CA. We don\'t have kids. We both want to have a pacific and not drama divorce. I got the USA permanent residency through this marriage. We loved each other but at the end, it didn\'t work out. Because we got married in another country we don\'t know if we can get divorced here. We can\'t go back to the other county and get divorced, at least my ex doesn\'t want to, he wants to resolve everything here in USA.Can we get divorce in USA? Do we need a normal divorce lawyer or an emigration lawyer? What should we do in order to have a fast and easy divorce here in USA?\nThanks for your answer.

As long as you complied with the laws of the country in which you were married, you should be able to divorce where you are currently domiciled (i.e. California). However, to ensure that there are not other factors which may impact your ability to obtain a divorce in California, you should consult with an attorney. Garrison Klueck (619)448-6500.
