Legal Question in Family Law in California

hidden assets

This may seem really petty but I don't know what else to do. My child support case is being reviewed by the judgment data exam unit. They have asked me to provide them with any information I have (financially) on the paying parent. I just found out that he has a cellular phone and a newly adopted puppy and kitten. I know it takes money to have any of these (which could go to our son instead) but he keeps telling the D.A. that he cannot find a job. Should I even bother mentioning the above to the judge? Thank you so much for your time and I truly appreciate your help.

Re: hidden assets

It would seem that this information should be provided to the judge. A parents' first financial obligation is to provide for their children. The amount of money involved in a cell phone and two pets is not a great amount in the support calculation. However if I were the judge, I would want to know where he is getting the funds to pay for these items.
