Legal Question in Family Law in California

I hired an attorney to a family law case who said his rate was $350/Hr, when I received a statement there were charges of over $7k for a paralegal he said he hired for help which charge me and additional $250/hr, can I dispute the charges?

Wow, that paralegal makes more an hour that I do as an attorney.

The big issue here is what was disclosed to you in your written retainer agreement with the attorney? The attorney's fee agreement must disclose rates, and the basis for billing.

I agree that is steep for a paralegal, but if it was provided for in the retainer agreement, you owe the charges. Besides, would you rather the attorney did all that work at $350/hr instead of paying $250/hr for it?
