Legal Question in Family Law in California

The house my ex and I lived in for the last 4 years is owned by his parents. Neither me nor my ex, is on the title, but we paid the mortgage from our joint personal account. The parents have never paid the mortgage, but they do claim the home as a rental property on the parents' personal taxes. Do I have any rights to this home? I contributed to the mortgage payments, and now the home has equity, and I'd like to be able to get the benefits so I can move on.

From your description of the events, it seems as if you were merely tenants in the residence. Wherever you live, you would have to pay a cost to live there. More information is needed to better understand your situation.
