Legal Question in Family Law in California
My husband abandoned me back in November 2011. Until lately I've known where he lived. We're still legally married. I recently learned that he had abandoned his job 3 months ago, lost his apartment, and is now living with his mother. I've tried contacting him at his mother's residence but they are refusing to let me communicate with him for reasons unknown. I'm a double amputee, pertineal dialysis patient so it's very difficult for me to get around. I'm trying to take care of some financial business we have together, but his family isn't being cooperative with me; they lied and said he was in the hospital (UCSF) for 3 months but when I called the hospital I was told there was no patient record under his name.
Question: What can I do in legal terms to regain contact with my husband?

Nothing. He is not obligated to communicate with you nor is his family obligated to let you or facilitate communication. Your only option is to file for divorce and force him to deal with it through the courts if he will not do it cooperatively.
