Legal Question in Family Law in California

my husband abandoned my 12 yr daughter and I almost 2 months ago and is not helping finacially towards the household nor the child. Two weeks later I was laid off from a very good paying job (he knows that) I filed for a divorce May 24, 2012. My question is before the filing date I had sold a vehicle (for money ;I desperately needed to care for my child and I) that had been sitting here for over 20 years, it was not running nor registered to the to be ex nor myself, there is a document stating the last known owner lived in Tuscon, Az. The vehicle was picked up after the filing date. Can I get in trouble for this. Please respond a.s.a.p. thanks, Kathy I have absolutley no money to pay my bills and am so for behind on them.

You have every right to use your resources for the necessities of life. Even if you sold the vehicle after the divorce petition was filed, this would not be a violation of the property restraining order. Please file a motion for child custody and visitation and include in your motion a request for child support, spousal support and attorney fees.
