Legal Question in Family Law in California

My husband and I can't come to an agreement on how to split finances. My paycheck currently has a deduction of 1250 for covering the medical expenses for all four of us. I told him that he is responsible for half the deduction so I will reduce the amount I put into joint by 600. He says he is responsible for the difference it makes on my net pay ( the difference of having two people versus four on my medical plan). What is the correct way to deal with this deduction?

Legally both paychecks belong 100% and all expenses are owed 100% by both of you jointly. The law doesn't divide things other than assets and debts which are allocated 50/50 (with a few exceptions), but only if you get a divorce. So there is no legal answer to your question.
