A lien attaches to the property and remains on the porperty until it is paid. Payment can be either by monthly payments or in a lump sum when the house is sold. Child support arrears collect accrue interest at the rate of 10% per year. The amount due goes up very fast and can double in 10 years. It is possible but unlikey that the person who recorded the judgment for child support would be willing to remove it. This is very unlikely to happen.
