Legal Question in Family Law in California

Ex husband and child support

My ex husband took me back to court 2 years ago to get his child support payments reduced. Instead, they were increased due to his wage increase, as well as his almost non existant visitation (his choice). I just recieved another Notice of Motion to modify child support. He works construction, and he claims that the weather has decreased his income. Currently he is $3865.00 behind for 2004/2005. I have never called asking that he get current. I understand the weather thing. He is requesting that the amount be reduced and that it be retroactive 90 days prior to the filing. He says that he will drop the court date ONLY if I send a letter saying he doesn't owe back support. I live 2 states away and cannot keep going back to court. What can I do? And is it worth going to court over? Thank you.

Re: Ex husband and child support

Contact the child support enforcement agency in the state where you live and request assistance in collection of the support arrears. If that will take to much time contact the child support enforcement agency in the county in which the court appearance has been scheduled and request assistance. If that is unsuccessful contact the court clerk and request to make the appearance by telephone.
