Legal Question in Family Law in California

Husband Contests

My husband contests, files reschedules and many other tactics to avoid court dates to finalize our divorce. What options do I have to demand his appearance in court and stop all of these postponements?

Re: Husband Contests

Whether he cooperates or not you can "finalize" your divorce if by that you mean terminate marital status, making you single. If there are other issues, you have to get the case set for trial. Most judges won't set the case for trial until everybody has had sufficient time to get the information they need to trial. Parties have to be diligent about that, if he is not, you have to force the issue. Make the Judge put a stop to it.
