Legal Question in Family Law in California

My husband is co-signing for his 33 year old daughter an apartment. I do not want to be responsible if she falters. We are tied up financially together. What can I do to protect myself.

Not much. It would be a community debt, meaning any community property could be reached to satisfy a default. There are things you can do with advanced planning for spouses to keep themselves clear of the other's liabilities, but not just for one obligation when the rest of the finances are co-mingled.
