Legal Question in Family Law in California
My husband has 35% custody of his 12 yr. old daughter. His ex has enrolled her in extra curricular activity which requires participation nearly every weekend. He's adjusted the custody agrmt. so his daughter can attend the monthly mtgs. and so she can go to some yearly big event this organization hosts. However, now the ex is sending monthly emails stating she wants to switch dates/times to accomodate the daughters activities. My husband has only agreed to yearly softball. The judge has said my husband does not have to accomodate these extra curr. activities as it conflicts with his time. Now the ex has called a counseling (non-legal) appt. to discuss. Does he have to attend this appt.? If he doesn't attend, what are the ramifications?

If the custody order does not require your husband to participate in counseling to resolve any parenting conflicts, he is not required to attend the session. If the order does require him to attend counseling sessions, he must attend the session or he is in contempt of court. Good Luck.
