Legal Question in Family Law in California
My ex husband is on disability due to a mental illness and has started becoming verbally and once physically abusive with the children. I'd like to suspend visitation pending a mental health evaluation. What do I do?

If he has committed domestic violence, you need to file for a domestic violence TRO. You can get started here: http://www.sdcourt.ca.gov/ and click on the domestic violence link.

You should talk to a family law attorney who has experience with child custody cases. Many more facts are needed in order to give sound advice that is practical and in your client's best interest. If you feel that you children are in physical danger you should contact CPS. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
