Legal Question in Family Law in California

My husband and I are getting a divorce. He left several months ago. We are both on the title and I am on the loan. Is he legally obligated to contribute toward the house until we go through the divorce process and make an agreement? I am on the verge of losing the house. I have borrowed money and taken in renters but I have been down a renter for 3 months. Thanks for any guidance.

Since you are the party in possession of the house, you are required to pay the usual expenses related to it's occupancy. These expenses include mortgage, taxes and insurance and small maintenance costs. You may be entitled to spousal support if your husband makes more money than you do. It would be in your best interests to meet with a skilled family law attorney to review your legal options.
