Legal Question in Family Law in California

my husband and i just found out our 3 month old nephew is in foster care because his mother is not fit to care for him. we decided that we want to get the baby. we live in california and the baby is in florida. how can we make this work?

I'm not a Florida attorney, but I would imagine you would have to contact the Florida foster home and notify them of your willingness to have custody of the baby. After that, I'm sure the state has some kind of procedure where Child Protective Services would have to petition the court for permission to have you be the new guardians. Contact a Florida attorney who specializes in child custody and adoption matters.
