Legal Question in Family Law in California
My husband is hiding financial records from me. I'm trying to file for legal separation. If I found PDF's of these records on his work email, sent from his in-house counsel to a divorce attorney (husband cc'd) can I forward it to my own email? Is that a violation of the law?

Let's see.. you access a work email when you don't work there, basically hacking. You intercept potentially privileged email... I wonder what worse here. Get an attorney and Subpoena the records.
Under California community property fiduciary management and control law, both spouses have an obligation to one another to disclose information upon demand. If you're not ready to start your divorce action, send a written request to your spouse and a deadline for production of records. You're also entitled to information concerning separate property as well. Please meet with an experienced family law attorney conversant in this field and the spouses fiduciary duties to each other.
