Legal Question in Family Law in California

Is husband legally obligated to financially support wife?

If a couple enters into marriage, is there some agreement that can be signed to say that the husband is not financially responsible to support his wife? (ie: she will support herself financially). Further: if the husband has to show a certain amount of personal income for some reason, (a business contract, etc..), will his personal income amount be jeopardized if he enters into a marriage?

Thankyou.

Re: Is husband legally obligated to financially support wife?

All income earned by spouses is community property except that income which is derived from solely separate property. Whether or not this can be waived by a pre-nuptial agreement would need to be researched prior to issuing an opinion which may be relied upon. Call me directly at 16192223504.
