Legal Question in Family Law in California
Husband is lying about Net Income to avoid Child Support
My husband has his own business which he set up years ago and does not generate income from this business. He works as an independent contractor under another company. Using his own business however he is able to increase the amount of deductions he is taking in order to show less net income. This he says is his way of not having to pay as much child support. Is this legal and how do I prove his actual income?

Re: Husband is lying about Net Income to avoid Child Support
You should subpoena his bank records and the records for the business to identify his income. Another avenue of review is his schedule C tax returns.
As always please consult with a local attorney in your area before making legal decisions.
Good luck!
