If my husband gives up his parental rights does he still have to pay child support?

He may not be allowed to give up his parental rights. The Courts don't often relieve a father of his duty to support the child unless there is someone to step into those shoes (stepparent or other person wishing to adopt child). For further information, visit http://www.ellifritzlaw.com

I agree with Ms. Ellifritz. There is no such thing as a parent voluntarily giving up their parental rights. Courts have no authority to honor agreements between the parties not to pay child support. It is something that cannot be waived.
