Legal Question in Family Law in California

my husband has been paying on his back child support case in Texas for 10years. his children are 32&34;. he paid his orginal child support obligation.now his pay check has been garnished again for 500 month. and he is being asked to pay towards formula.to pay off the complete interest and princiipal.should we get another attornery to represent us?

Not necessarily. As a matter of law, child support never goes away and it accrues interest against any unpaid balance at the rate of 10% per annum. But, more interestingly, is if this is a Texas order and what the Texas law states as to interest, etc. Since if CA is simply enforcing a registered foreign order, then the laws of the originating state should apply.
