Legal Question in Family Law in California

I and my husband have a Pre Nup agreement. It is stated in the agreement that if he die I will inherit a little amount from his state if we are still married and not separated. my question is, What does this mean Married and not Separated ? Does this mean Divorce, legally separated, or not living together ?

Please tell me what is the full significant of this statement. looking forward to your praper guidance. Thank very much. Yolly
