Legal Question in Family Law in California
My ex husband just got released from jail on his own OR. He was in there for 4 days for child abuse, to my son. I have temp full custody, with him having supervised visitation. His charges were dropped to battery of a child, and he has 2 pending hearings coming up shortly. Can you tell me what you think the chances are that I will lose my custody of my son? Would you suggest I get a lawyer, or is it common sense? I'd appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks

Your future relationship with your son will be controlled by the decisions rendered by a child custody judge. For these reasons, I urge you to meet with an experienced family law attorney to carefully explore your legal options. Just because criminal charges against father were dropped does not mean that the family law judge would not seriously consider strict limitations on contact between father and your son.
