Legal Question in Family Law in California
My husband and I have been separated for over a year, and I just filed for divorce. For each month of the separation, I'm aware of regular deposits that have been made in my husband's checking account. He claims to be unemployed. For the last two months, no deposits have been made to the account -- I suspect this money is now being deposited into his girlfriend's bank account, instead. When he turns over his financial disclosure forms later this month, with the last two bank account statements included, it will appear he has no income, even though he does. How can I ask about the source of deposits I know about, when I'm not sure if the method by which I learned about these deposits was legal?

Pursue formal discovery through the divorce action to have an accounting of husbands cash flow and deposits.
