Legal Question in Family Law in California
My ex husband told my children to bring their ipods to his house, when they did, he took them from the kids and said he is keeping them there..(he didnt purchase them) and that the kids could use them if they come visit him more often than they already do. he also never returns their clothes that i purchased for them. its maddening, he said he would rather them grow out of the clothes and not have them , than to help me out by returning them! yikes. as petty as this seems, i cant keep playing games using the kids, making them miserable to get at me. what is it called when someone takes something that belongs to someone else and wont give it back unless you do something for them.. blackmail? theft? thank you

Return to court to get an order requiring that the children's belongings travel with them and return with the children after visiting their father.
I agree with Ms. Kock. Don't mess around just go take care of the problem. I have seen this happen over and over again. We are starting to really get aggressive with the problem and we are going after the parents that withhold the items now. We are also asking for attorney's fees in connection with efforts.
