Legal Question in Family Law in California

My ex husband wants to take our two young (5 and 7) children to a family reunion out of state this summer. One of his uncles that will be there is an alcoholic and has molested his own children. Can my ex take my children without my permission when I know they will be around this uncle?

It depends on what your court orders state. Check your orders and see if he needs written permission or a court order to take the kids out of state. If your order doesn't state this, you need to file an Order to Show Cause and request he not be allowed to take the kids out of state to the reunion. I would also seek an order prohibiting your ex from bringing the children around the uncle. Good Luck.
