Legal Question in Family Law in California

My husbands exwife tried to kill herself the other nite. She has custody of 2 of their children and lives in Cali while we live in Texas. At first, CPS said we could come and get the childern but lastnite, the exwife said CPS told her that she could keep the kids so long as she got treatment. We do have a friend who works for an attorney for Texas, so we dont know very much about Cali law. My husband has the rite to pick them up for the summer, starting June 15, but that is a long time to wait when we know she is unstable and suicidle. My question is, is there anything we can do to get the kids asap?

You could and should file for an emergency Ex-Parte hearing wherever the divorce was granted, asking the court to grant to you emergency custody of the children. I would highly suggest though that you have an experienced California family law attorney assist you with this. Good luck!
