Legal Question in Family Law in California

My husband's ex has filed for Welfare in the state of California. The Child Support department has filed a complaint against my husband even though he has been paying court ordered child support for over 6 months. They propose that we should be paying more. Is there anything we can do? They want $300 more from us and we just can not afford to pay that. Please help.

Child support is determined by a fairly strict formula. The formula is rather complicated and it is actually mandatory that reports to the court of calculations be submitted out of one of the court-approved software programs that runs the formula - most commonly Dissomaster. So the only real variable in the outcome is the inputs. DCSS is basing their demands on their own Dissomaster calculations run most likely with estimates from your husband's ex for the inputs for your side of the numbers. You need to gather up your own true financial information and find someone to help you run the true numbers based on your documented financial information. Unfortunately LawGuru has seen fit to strip the zip code information from all postings that we attorneys receive. So I cannot refer you to local resources. Please contact LawGuru and complain about this, since they are ignoring us.
