Legal Question in Family Law in California

iam a single father with legal and physical custody of my son{4 years old}.with my sons mother having reasonable visitation only, ive had custody for over a year now and my son has been living without his mom almost since birth.my son has been living with me and my mother almost since birth.regardless of the fact, sons mom hasnt seen her son in about three years.because i guess she doesnt care to see our son.sons mom knows where we live and knows my phone number.doesnt call doesnt visit . i have never denied her visitation or a conversation.so to get to my point ,can my sons mom throw the book at me because ...lets say..my girlfriend lives with me and my son and is developing a son and mom relationship with my son?

Your question is unclear. If you are asking whether the childs mother can have a dispute over your new gf and her relationship to your son. I don't see how that should be a problem, since it is very common for divorced and separated parents to develop new relationships and the child develops expanded relationships. On the other hand if there is an objection due to some problem that harms the childs health safety and welfare, then the court could examine that and the court would have a reason to intervene. You should ask the mother on what grounds she has an objection to the new gf.

For self represented individuals you can consult with the family law facilitator self help center at your local court house.

As always please consult a local attorney prior to taking legal action. Good luck. Also please check out my Santa Clara County Family Lawyer blog.
