Legal Question in Family Law in California

inheritance reimbursed

My wife had a swimming pool installed with her inheritance money, because I refused to waste money on one. She filed for divorce and wants to be reimbursed. The value of the house did not increase the amount she spent on the pool.

Is she entitled to the amount she spent or the increased value of the house?

Also she deposited her inheritance money into our joint checking account and paid the contractors with checks from the joint account.

Is this commingled? Is the money still separate?

Re: inheritance reimbursed

Money will likely be noted to be co-mingled, however, if she can account for all, she will likely be able to get her money out. However, need info as to how long ago the pool was put in, monies co-mingled, etc., etc., before I can give you more specific answers.
