Legal Question in Family Law in California
intercept lottery money
California child support offices of butte county intercepted my lottery money for back child support case that was already closed, they have decided that that case is closed and have decided to reopened another case and put my money in a trust until they figure out whats what, the case that they are going to open up is for my x wife and was for a period in which I was incarcerated and had no income what so ever. This seems to be a little illegal and I am not sure what to do, Thank you very much Sam Heath

Just because your income was $0.00 while in custody does not automatically reduce the court ordered support to zero. Many people in your situation fail to get a court order reducing their support obligation when incarcerated and incur hugh child support arrears while in custody.
