Legal Question in Family Law in California

International Adoption Name Change

I adopted an infant from Guatemala as a single parent a couple of years ago. The Guatemalan court changed my son's last name to mine but did not change his first and middle name. What type of process do I have to go through (and how expensive) is it to get my son's firts and middle name changed. Thank you!

Re: International Adoption Name Change

Typically, the process takes about 2-3 months and will cost around $500 - $750 in hourly fees. I can assist you with the application and guide you through the process if you would like. Please feel free to contact me.
