Legal Question in Family Law in California

International travel with 18 month old.

My family lives in Europe and I want to take my 18 month old on vacation there to visit. Her father and I have been together for about 8 years but are not married. We are having some problems right now and I don't think he would be too thrilled about us leaving. My daughter has a passport but would I also need a letter of consent from the father to be able to travel with her to Europe?

Ask him to sign a letter of approval. If he refuses that you would have to go to court and get a court order allowing you to go take you child to Europe for a vacation. Giving him a itinerary, telephone numbers and round trip airline tickets would probably help you get his approval.
