Legal Question in Family Law in California
Intra state Child Support
Hi,
What's the process on moving a support order from one state to another?
Here is the scenario:
Original support order filed in Missouri.
Father now lives in Illinois.
Mother now lives in California, and she would like to move the case here, since both she and the child have lived here for the past 6 years.
Thanks!

In a general sense you would file a certified copy in California, and then perhaps ask the California court to modify the cuppost to reflect California Guidelines.
For a specific opinion regarding your individual circumstances, I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!

Re: Intra state Child Support
For California to have personal jurisdiction over the father he must either be a resident of California, or have significant contacts with California. The presence of his child in this state is not sufficient to be a significant contact for jurisdiction purposes. Contact the local office of child support enforcement and request help, or retain an attorney to assist you in this matter.
