Legal Question in Family Law in California

Joint Custoday

My son resides with me and has done for six years, joint custody is shared with his father who sees him every other weekend. My son is becoming more and more reluctant to visit with his father. I am currently unhappy about the manner in which he disciplines our son. I feel that by allowing our son to visit with his father that I am condoning his behavour. Where do I stand if I simply tell the father that his son does not want to visit him?

Re: Joint Custoday

You did not state what dad does for discipline that you do not like. You can take your son to a counselor regarding his reluctance to visit his father. Or as previously suggested file an OSC or motion to modify visitation. In my experience counsel for the child is not helpful and may even make the situation more difficult.

Re: Joint Custoday

Maybe you could ask for an OSC for modification of visitation, and ask for minor's counsel as well.
