Legal Question in Family Law in California

Joint Custody Parent Making Unilaterial Decision for Child

I am a joint custody father, and I want to sign a release form for my minor son saying he can appear on television. Do I need to obtain his joint custody mother's consent or approval for this?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

You would need to look at the terms of your custody order to determine this. It never hurts to get permission from both parents however.

Please consult with an attorney before taking legal steps.

Good luck.
