Joint Legal Custody

If I have sole physical and my ex and I share joint legal and educational custody of my 16-year old son, can my ex unilaterally decide to take him out of school without my consent or even be aware of it. He decided to check him out of high school and let him do a GED/continuation thing - which I am totally against!

He can obviously do it, but he should have consulted with you first. You might have some success on a osc re modification of legal custody over the narrow issue of your child's education.
