Legal Question in Family Law in California
My ex and I have joint legal and joint physical custody of our three children. My visitation times are the first third and fourth weekend of every month. If I do not pick them up at those times and he has to find a babysitter for them, does he have the right to take me to court and charge me for the cost of the sitter?

Not exactly, but by failing to abide by the order he can ask the court to hold you in contempt. If found in contempt, the court could suspend the sentence provided you reimbursed him for his expenses. You could also give him grounds to modify the custody schedule to permenantly reduce your time with the children. Perhaps what you should be more concerned about, however, is what it says to your kids that their mom only gets to see them six days a month and she can't even make it to pick them up then.
