Legal Question in Family Law in California

Joint Mortgage - Credit Risk Post Divorce

My ex wife and I divorced in 2004,separated in 2000. She got house and I got business property but we didn't refi either. She hurt my credit 4 times, the last b/c she didn't pay mortgage. Is there anyway to take her back to court and separate myself so she can't keep ruining my credit? Now I can't refi and I have increasing rate.

Usually your marital settlement agreement will have language saying that one party is to hold the other harmless for obligations awarded. My rates are very reasonable. Please call 909.593.9263 to schedule a free consultation on the phone or in person.

If you are still on title, as well as the loan, regarding the home your ex is living in, and she is ruining your credit by her failure to pay mortgate payments, there is alot you can still do legally. There should be an existing divorce stipulation referring to this, unless you two perhaps did your divorce on your own. If you would like prompt, affordable legal assistance and/or a review of your marital dissolution paperwork regarding this issue, contact us today for a free phone consultation.
