JTWROS as it relates to financial accounts

husband and wife about to file for a divorce and own savings account jtwros. what portion can she remove to safe guard from him?

I would remove it all and put it in a separate account. Once the divorce is filed, neither party may remove money from any account except for the "necessities of life." If you don't remove it all, your spouse probably will.

I would also recommend cancelling all credit cards in both your names.
