The way a court determines spousal support at least at the temporary stage is through a program called Dissomaster, which is at the local court house. It is dependent on income primarily and can be modified by a multitude of factors which you can argue. Permanent spousal support is dependent on a variety of factors which is complex and requires further argument.

You can contact the local family law facilitator in your court house to get self help information for self represented individuals.

Please contact a lawyer in your area before taking any legal action.

Good luck.
