What should be done if a judge makes a new order on a case that has been previously dismissed?

I agree with Mr. McCormick. If a case is dismissed, the court usually loses jurisdiction to rule on the case, but there are housekeeping matters that the court can hear, and the court can also set aside the dismissal. All of these would be subsequent new orders.
