Legal Question in Family Law in California
Should a Judge Recuse Himself?
Should a judge ''recuse'' themselves if they ADMIT to having ex-parte communications with the opposing attorney? Also, is this a strong reason for an appeal?

Re: Should a Judge Recuse Himself?
The fact that the judge talked to opposing counsel would not in and of itself be grounds for an appeal. It would depend upon the content and purpose of the communications. Judges and attorneys talk to each other all the time.
