Im was married and live in california, wife has filed for divorce and is living in another state, Utah, which laws govern

Both states have jurisdiction to terminate the marriage. If you do not have "minimum contacts" with Utah (that is a legal term with specific meaning) then only California can make orders concering division of property support, etc. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
