juvenile dependency??

What exactly does ''Child subject to the jurisdiction of either the juvenile dependency or criminal courts?'' mean??

With the little you have provided, I believe it means either the juvenile court (minor's court) has jurisdiction or the criminal court (adult court) has jurisdiction

Plain and simple... Juvenile dependency courts handle cases involving children that have been or are at risk of being removed from a home by and through Child Protective Services.

Juvenile detention courts handle cases involving minors who have committed criminal offenses - similar to the criminal justice system for adults.
