keeping personal property from someone

What should I do I just moved and left a few things that the landlord asked to purchase. This landlord has locked them in her shop via pad lock. I'm not used to this kind of behavior and don't really know what to do.

Can someone help me? PLEASE

Send a letter to the landlord demanding the return of the property. If the landlord does not return the property then you can sue the landlord in small claims court, for up to $7,500.
